News & Announcements
In addition to listening to announcements following Meeting for Worship, Friends in Ithaca Monthly Meeting tend to rely on three sources of information in order to stay in touch with all the happenings related to our community:
- The newsletter. The monthly newsletter is printed and distributed at Meeting for Worship—most often on the last Sunday of a month, but occasionally the timing works out such that it is the first Sunday.
- The listserv. The listserv can serve as a more timely source of information about meeting events than the newsletter.
- Marilyn’s list. For broader postings relating to peace and social action concerns in the community, meeting has relied on Marilyn Ray’s mailing list. To join Marilyn’s list, contact Marilyn at mlr17@cornell.edu.

| Demolition update Thursday, June 18 June 18th, 2010 | The interior dividers in what will be the meeting room are gone, and it’s possible to imagine it as a meeting room now. What remains to be done? The back part of the first floor, and the whole second floor. Demolition offers a rare and valuable form of fellowship. I saw our Treasurer take a sledgehammer to a pile of masonry like a superhero. I saw seven-year-olds tearing into drywall. ("Be careful there," a child in my First Day School class warned me solemnly from the other side of a wall. "There are wires in there.") more » |
