We ask building users to consider how much they can donate toward building maintenance. Please put cash or check donation in a sealed envelope in the donation box in the foyer or in the treasurer’s mailbox in our library. Make checks out to “IMMRSF”.
Note the following expectations:
- Clean up afterwards. Organizations and individuals using the Third Street Meetinghouse are responsible for the condition of the building. In general, please leave the meetinghouse cleaner than you found it when you arrived. Care should be given to floors, especially in the winter when salt is tracked in.
- There is no smoking and no alcohol use permitted at the Third Street Meetinghouse.
- Use only your own supplies including coffee, tea, and condiments.
- Return furniture that has been moved. There is a chair arrangement diagram in the library to guide setting up the chairs in the main Meetingroom.
- Dishes and utensils should be hand washed and then sterilized in the dishwasher, if you have been instructed in the use of the dishwasher. If not – or if there are too few dishes to run the dishwasher – store the hand washed items in the dish drainer or the rack for a later dishwasher cycle. Please do not leave dishes in the sink.
- Children should be supervised at all times, whether downstairs or upstairs in the activity room.
- Secure the building when leaving. Confirm that all windows are closed. Make certain all doors are locked. For the glass door at the main entrance, release the crash bar from the inside to lock. If you are the last person to leave the building, leave by the kitchen door, turning the bolt to the locked position. Try the door as you leave to make sure it is locked.
- Repeating reservations can be made on a “semester” basis: Jan-May, June-August. and September-December. This will allow Quaker Meeting members and attenders to reserve for new activities while still honoring commitments we make to outside groups. Sign-ups will be accepted for the next semester in June, Sept. and December. Ithaca Monthly Meeting, on very rare occasions, reserves the right to bump other groups that have reserved the space for one-time needs that arise. We will make every attempt to give a two week notice in this event so you may make other plans.
